Huddersfield Town vs. Swindon Town

Galpharm Stadium

9 February 2008

3pm Kick Off

PREVIEW: Huddersfield Town

Swindon Town travel up North to Yorkshire to take on Huddersfield Town this Saturday at the Galpharm Stadium.

Swindon Town are yet to lose in 2008 and hope to continue the run against The Terriers.

The Galpharm Stadium seats 24,500 people along with hospitality boxes and conference rooms and was built in 1994.

It is one of the better new stadiums as it is not a lifeless bowl.

Vital Quotes:

'The bigger they are the harder they fall. It doesn't matter who we play - we have no fear and we try to remain positive throughout. We need to take that attitude onto the pitch and if we can do that at Huddersfield Town this weekend then we have every chance of emerging with a result,'

Swindon Town Boss Maurice Malpas

Huddersfield Town Team News:

Huddersfield currently sit 16th in League One after their 2-0 win over Yeovil last weekend. Danny Cadamarteri and Luke Malcher are on the sidelines with long term injuries and will not feature. Both players are expected to return to training in the next 2 weeks. Simon Eastwood who has been out with a broken foot will not feature. Chris Brandon could return to the starting XI after serving a suspension.

Player to watch: Luke Beckett

The dangerous striker was linked with a move to Swindon a couple of seasons ago after a good spell at Oldham. Beckett has been somewhat slow out of the gate this season only finding the net 5 times in the league however he has scored 4 goals in cup matches and is still very dangerous.

Swindon Town Team News:

Barry Corr will not feature due to a shoulder injury. Simon Cox could start at front in Corr's place after the Football league finally approved his transfer from Reading. Phil Smith and Ady Williams could be in contention along with Jack Smith. Craig Easton is still out with an injury. Patrick Kanyuka could return after suffering a big gash to his head against Luton Town.

Player to watch: Simon Cox

Cox returned to Town on a permanent transfer a week ago and returns as Town's top goal scorer with 9 goals. Swindon have been a bit shy of scoring lately so Cox's return will be a welcome one.

Match Facts & Stats

Swindon Town have a 52% success record against Huddersfield. Swindon are a lifetime 15-9-11 against the Terriers. The last time the 2 teams played was the last day of the 2005-06 League One campaign which saw the teams draw 0-0 after Swindon Town were already relegated. Previously to that Swindon drew 1-1 with Huddersfield in their last visit to Huddersfield. Andy Gurney scored a penalty for Swindon

Match Prediction:

A very hard match to predict. Huddersfield are probably further down the table than expected however Swindon are yet to lose so far in 2008. We are going to go for a 2-1 home win. We will tempt fate by predicting a Swindon Town victory.
