Swindon Town 0 - Leeds United 1

County Ground

Saturday 1 March 2008

Attendance: 13,270 (3,500 Leeds Fans)

Swindon 0, Leeds 1

Leeds United took all 3 points at the County Ground this afternoon thanks to a first half Tresor Kandol goal.

Swindon Town's playoff hopes this season look to be all but over after this game however the team put on a spirited display against a determined Leeds side who are now only 2 points from the League One playoff places.

Town slip to 14th after the defeat which was played in front of the biggest crowd of the season at the County Ground.

Town defender Patrick Kanyuka could be set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a groin injury in the early stages of today's game.

Star Player

Billy Paynter - Never stopped running and never gave in.

Damn, hoped you'd win today

Thought you deserved at least a draw. Only poor crossing and poor finishing kept us in it. For a change we actually had a referee who gave us everything (except for a blatant penalty!) Quite how cox missed with the header I don't know. Have to agree thought Paynter had a good game for you. I have seen Ifil twice this season and couldn't understand how he was left out. He had Bckford in his pocket when he came on. Really liked the lad Comminges who looks like he enjoys the physical side of English football. On another day you could have had four or five but for poor finishing. The conditions didn't help with a bobbly pitch and a swirling wind.
