Swindon 2, Millwall 1

Swindon Town win their last game of the season 2-1 after coming from behind to beat Millwall at the County Ground.

Danny Senda got the Lions off to the best possible start scoring 6 minutes into the game giving the visitors a 1-0 advantage.

At 31 minutes in Swindon Town was awarded a penalty after Michael Timlin was fouled by Paul Robinson. Simon Cox was composed and scored leveling things up at 1-1.

Bad news came for Millwall just before half time as Danny Senda who scored the goal for the visitors earlier landed awkwardly and dislocated his knee. Senda would be stretchered off in agony. You could see the pain on Senda's face right away clinching at Hasney Aljofree who was defending. Richard Shaw came on for Senda as we went to half time.

Anthony McNamee who had a poor half in Orange boots changed at half time into white boots. This may sound irrelevant but on the 51st minute, McNamee would score his second goal of the season giving Town a 2-1 lead. We are convinced it was the bright orange boots that made him play poorly.

Town would hold on to the 2-1 lead until the end of the match as about 3,000 (slight exaggeration) police showed up in front of the Millwall end which seemed a bit over the top and actually seemed to wind people up whilst there was no problems earlier on between fans. Better safe than sorry I suppose.

So that's it, The 2007/08 season is over with many up's and down's. Town finish 13th and head into the summer planning for a Championship promotion push.

Peter Brezovan - Back at his best, simple phenomenal.
Pulled off some simply fantastic saves to ensure Town kept their 2-1 lead towards the end. Was brought in to play right back due to an injury to Jack Smith. Did OK but gave the ball away quite a lot. No one really looked like getting in a scoring position around him. Never really rated Aljofree but he showed just a bit more class than any of the back 4 yesterday. Good game for the Captain. The big defender looked brilliant at the back and has a bright future ahead of him. Gave the ball away a bit but did what he does best, Got the ball away from the area. Looked lively, perhaps falls to the ground a bit too easily but isn't afraid to throw his body in the way. Craig Easton has been a rock this year. We would have struggled in midfield this year without Easton in my opinion. Great game alongside Easton and then committed his future to the club by signing a 2 year contract after the game! Good man! Very much a tale of 2 halves. Looked poor in the first half with bright orange boots. Came on for the second half in white boots and was his usual self and scored a goal! Looked class against Millwall. Finally looks to be getting his confidence back. Let's hope it carries into next season. Again ran his socks off. Took his penalty well not allowing the Milwall fans to intimidate him. Scored a goal at the New Den for Town earlier in the season. First game since his groin injury against Leeds. He looked OK. Give him pre-season and a few games and he will come good. Ran about again and got into position, Didn't really get a chance on goal. Maurice Malpas 8/10 - Malpas has got a lot of stick from sections of the crowd but Town took 10 of 12 points at the end of the season after sorting out his own players. Malpas used the game to give some of the youngsters a go and for the most part they didn't dissapoint. It will be very interesting to see who Malpas brings in to compliment the squad he already has in the Summer. Kenny Jackett 7/10 - Clearly Kenny Jackett had told his players "end on a high" after his Lions side put out a battling performance. Millwall enjoyed lengthy periods on the ball and actually looked a fairly decent side. Even near the end of the game Millwall never gave up. Fair Play to Milwall who were not playing as if there was nothing to play for.
