Stockport County 1 - SwindonTown 1

Edgeley Park

20/9/2008, 3pm K.O

Attendance: 5,536 (374 Swindon Fans)

Stockport 1, Swindon Town 1

Swindon Town get a valuable away point this afternoon at Stockport County as the teams draw 1-1 at Edgeley Park this afternoon.

Town drop to 16th after the result and 2 points off the League One drop zone. Town who talked about the play-offs prior to the season are already 5 points adrift of the play off places.

On loan Wolves striker Stephen Glesson scored for Stockport on 31 minutes after Town bossed the game for the first half.

Simon Cox would come close to equalising for Town as he hit the cross bar but Stockport would go into the break with a 1-0 advantage.

Town defender Hasney Aljofree was reported to have had an altercation with the Swindon supporters as some words were exchanged. We are not aware what this was in relation to and what was said to irritate the captain.

Town came out for the second half rejuvenated and bossed the game for the most part. Just after half time on 48 minutes Craig Easton would score for Town from 25 yards out to bring things level.

Swindon Town would look to bring something new to the game by taking off Billy Paynter on 63 minutes and replacing him by Barry Corr who was making his return from injury.

The teams would battle back and forward with Town having 63% of the possession for the rest of the game.

The final result is 1-1 with Town getting rid of the demons from the Leeds game.
