Bristol Rovers 2, Swindon 2
Swindon Town will be happy to leave with a point but it is a case of 2 points dropped after Bristol Rovers score a last minute equaliser to give Rovers a share of the points this afternoon at the Memorial Stadium.
Town were without talisman striker Simon Cox after he saw his 5th yellow card of the season and started off with a partnership of Ben Joyce and Barry Corr up front.
Ricky Lambert got the home side off to an early 1-0 lead before Patrick Kanyuka scored his first goal for Town in a league match to level things at 1-1 going into half time.
The second half saw Billy Paynter move up front alongside Barry Corr as he replaced Ben Joyce.
Barry Corr would give the visitors a one goal advantage on 52 minutes after Corr headed in for his second goal of the campaign.
Town looked as if they would be heading back to Wiltshire with all 3 points until Chris Lines scored a last minute equaliser for The Gas to make it 2-2.
It was heartbreak for Swindon and for caretaker boss David Byrne who was hoping for a result to boost his chances of getting the managers job full time.
Town now head home to ponder what could have been as they drop to 18th, 3 points off the relegation zone before playing high flying Peterborough Tuesday night at the County Ground.
It's not all bad news. Town are now unbeaten in 5 games in the league.
