STFC 1-1 SCFC: Another lead surrendered

Swindon Town
1 - 1
Stockport County

The County Ground

14/01/09 1945 K-O

Attendance: 6002

Referee:

Barry Corr and Anthony McNamee returned to the Swindon line-up as the Robins took on Play-Off hopefuls Stockport County.

A pretty even 1st half saw the clearest chances go to the visitors but neither could score and it remained goaless at Half Time.

Swindon took the lead on the hour when Simon Cox was fouled by Williams. Jack Smith stepped up, missed but scored with the rebound. 1-0 Town.

Two things are familiar to Swindon fans 1) Surrendering fragile leads and 2) Barry Corr getting injured - both followed, with Corr injuring his shoulder again on 69 minutes and Anthony Pilkington making it 1-1 five minutes later.

Swindon had genuine chances to win the game but fon Williams produced some fine saves.

Final Score 1-1.
