Swindon Town will be playing League Two football next season. Town need a miracle to stay up now after losing today against Brentford. The only way Swindon will be playing in League One next season is if Swindon win their last two games and results elsewhere go Swindon's way.
Swindon simply did not defend at all today and deserved to lose their League One status. The fans were solidly behind Swindon but to no avail. The players were laclustre and really did not look as if they were going to create anything.
Swindon went down 2-0 before half time but managed to pull one back to make the socre 2-1 and rally the fans. Sadly it lasted a mere 5 minutes or so and Town went down 3-1 which is how the game ended.
Towards the end of the game with relegation all but certain Swindon fans started aiming their fury at Willie Carson by chanting "We want Carson out" and slating the players singing "Your Not Fit to wear the shirt"
If any consolation Swindon will get to rekindle an old rivalry with Oxford United in League 2 next season assuming they stay up.
