Notts County 2, Swindon 0

Swindon Town are officially out of the playoffs following a loss too Notts County today at Meadow Lane.

Things looked good to start with as Peterborough were losing early 1-0 to Shrewsbury but would go on to win the match 4-2 which was good enough to end Swindon's season anyway.

Swindon knew anything other than a win would see their season end even if the Shrews did pull off a miracle and beat The Posh.

Former Town defender Alan Sheehan would put the home team in front as he finished from close range.

Town would have plenty of chances but would go down to 9 men when referee Richard Clark gave Troy Archibald-Henville a straight red card and gave Nathan Thompson his second yellow to end their seasons a week early.

County would get their second as Wes Foderingham came up to give Town an extra man in the box which left Town's goal empty.

Callum McGregor would slot the ball home in the empty net to ensure County took all 3 points.

The match was the last for Alex Pritchard as his youth loan now ends.
