Swindon Town 0 - Bristol City 1

County Ground, Swindon

Tuesday 31 July 2007

Attendance: Pre-Season Friendly

Swindon 0, Bristol City 1

Swindon Town lost 1-0 last night at the County Ground thanks to a 75th minute goal from Phil Jevons. Both teams started off equal however right away you could tell that Town`s goal scoring chances were limited with Barry Corr missing out of action.

Christian Roberts made his permanent debut on the wing but didn`t appear to do much although his counterpart Sofiene Zaaboub on the other wing impressed despite almost leaving the game with an injury after crashing into the advertising boards near the Stratton Bank.

Bristol City`s Lee Trundle would come on during the second half however looked very lacklustre and didn`t really look like scoring.

City would take the lead on the 75th minute thanks to a Phil Jevons goal. The teams went back and forward to the end but at the end of the match it was clear as expected, Town require a prolific goal scorer if the club at to achieve anything more than making up numbers in League One this season.

Star Player

Steve Adams Manager Sturrock heaped Praise on Adams who lasted 70 minutes in this match andappears to have earned the contract with the club he so desperately wanted.
