Swindon Town 1 - Tranmere Rovers 0

County Ground, Swindon

20/10/2007 3pm K.O

Attendance: 6,430

Swindon Beat Tranmere 1-0

Swindon Town climb to 7th in League One with a game in hand thanks to a 88th minute goal from Barry Corr which gave Town all three points at the County Ground.

Both teams looked very impressive throughout the game and we expect both to be fighting for the automatic promotion/playoff places come the end of the season.

Tranmere Rovers showed they were no push overs and probably would have thought a draw was a fair result.

The game went back and forward for Town but thanks to the fantastic partnership of Andy Nicholas, Jerel Ifil, Hasney Aljofree and Miguel Comminges, Rovers were unable to pose much of a threat towards the Swindon goal

The only 2 chances Rovers really had came immediately after half time when Rovers Carl Tramarco had a fantatsic shot at Town keeper Phil Smith who was forced to pull off a fantastic save.

Tranmere's Shane Sherriff looked to have broken the deadlock half way through the second half but Hasney Aljofree whow as returning from injury cleared the ball off the line.

On the 78th minute a familiar face would come on for Billy Paynter. Barry Corr the man who scored 3 goals in 8 games last season for Town came on and chipped in a 88th minute goal from a JP McGovern pass to secure all three points for Swindon.

Star Player

Hasney Aljofree - The pairing of Aljofree and Ifil is back and is probably one of the best if not THE best in League One.
