Swindon 1 - Orient 1

Swindon Town managed to grab a last second point at the County Ground this evening against Leyton Orient with the match ending 1-1.

This was a far better performance from Swindon and players such as Peter Brezovan and Sofiene Zaaboub showed why they should be selected.

The teams battled back and forward all game with Leyton Orient looking the better side in a game that could have gone either way.

Throughout the game it appeared as if the final result would be 0-0 however the ever dangerous Adam Boyd slotted home a goal on the 87th minute to take Orient top of League One with 3 minutes to go in the game.

As the league table stood Orient had 29 points whilst Carlisle sat on 28 and Nottingham Forest close behind on 27.

The 4th official indicated that 3 minutes added time would be played and in the final action of the evening, with most Swindon fans heading for the exits, Swindon Town captain Hasney Aljofree slotted home the equaliser to give Town a share of the points this evening at the County Ground.

After this stunning result Town climb to 10th on goal difference and sit 4 points outside of the playoffs.

Star Player

Sofiene Zaaboub - After a rubbish game on Saturday, Zaaboub went all out to show why he should be selected to play against Wycombe on Saturday.

Player Ratings

Peter Brezovan 7

Brezovan looked more confident than he has with his last 2 games. Hopefully this is the start of Brezovan's return. Couldn't really do anything about the goal.

Miguel Comminges - 6

Worked very well at right back however gave the ball away quite a bit. Ran his socks off.

Jerel Ifil 6

Again worked very hard but you can tell he is injuryed. Due to Town's transfer embargo he will play against Leeds. We expect Ifil to rest against Wycombe.

Hasney Aljofree 7

Worked very hard alongside Ifil as usual. Got the goal that ensured Town got a point from the match.

Sofiene Zaaboub 7

Certainly improved since Saturday, ran around and put in a few decent crosses.

Jon Paul McGovern 6

Something is missing from his game, tends to drift into the middle of the field.

Craig Easton 6

Didn't do great against his former team and missed a couple of goalscoring chances.

Steve Adams 6

Didn't look back returning from injury. This move was probably made to give one of the defenders a rest as Zaaboub moved to left back.

Lee Peacock 7

Ran around tirelessly as usual. Can't be faulted for his performance.

Billy Paynter 6

Ran around a bit but never looked like scoring due to lack of service.

Simon Cox 7

Ran around like a headless chicken but like Paynter didn't get much service.

Barry Corr 7

Got stuck in and fluffed a couple of goalscoring chances however he will come good.

Christian Roberts 7

Only on a few minutes but put in a brilliant cross a minute from time.

Michael Pook 7

Surprised to see Pook again however he looked a lot better than his last outing against Cheltenham.

Manager Rating

Paul Sturrock - 7/10 - Sturrock made 2 changes from the team that last on Saturday against Doncaster. Andy Nicholas was replaced by Sofiene Zaaboub, whilst Steve Adams started in midfield. Sturrock seems to favour starting Paynter and bringing him off half way through the second half and using Barry Corr as somewhat of a super-sub.

Opponent Rating

Martin Ling - 8/10 - Lingy was making his return to Swindon after an 11 year competetive abscence. Ling went all out attack against Swindon and in truth Orient where the better team. Orient's defenders were solid and this is a team that should be there or there abouts come the end of the season.
