The Ground - The ground has two fairly modern stands to your left from the away end and in front of you where the more vocal home support sits. The entrance to the away end is along a residential street where the entrants greets you at the end of it. The away end itself is pretty rubbish as it`s a temporary stand held up by scaffolding. There is no roof on this stand so you are not protected from the elements and it is near impossible to make any sort of noise or atmosphere. It`s probably worth covering up colours although that said, there is always a high police presence at Gillingham.

Home Fans - The home fans still have a bizarre fascination with Swindon Town and chant "we hate Swindon" at any given chance. This is likely down to them having no real local rivals to speak of. There were a group of Gills fans outside the Southern Belle pub near the rail station trying to start trouble but other than that I have had 2 visits to the ground with no problems.

Parking - I have never been to Gillingham by car so cannot comment. Train is the best way to go as you thunder down the line out of London on High Speed 1.

Stewarding - The stewards were friendly downstairs but in the stand they were near militant and hated any fans standing up.

Food - Food was fairly decent and average priced. There are better places to eat before the match obviously in Gillingham Town Centre.

Away Fans Pub - We drank in London at the Comedy and St. James Tavern in Piccadilly Circus. Can`t beat a few drinks in London Town.

Overall - It`s a decent away day and you can enjoy a few drinks in London on the way back to Swindon if you go via Rail. As we won promotion there was a party atmosphere on the way home despite us losing.
